This low flying object is an eastern grey kangaroo moving across Yarra Flats, which is just a few kilometres from the centre of Melbourne, Australia. It's a delight having these amazing animals living so close to the CBD of a major city.
I've been taking photos for many years, having bought my first SLR in 1990. Initially, my camera was something I used to record family holidays, but I'm now able to spend more time on photography for its own sake (and mine!). I love finding new places and things to photograph, whether near home or further afield.

Great detail and timing for an 'in flight' capture. Their ability for movement and speed utilising their tails always amazes me (even though born and bred in Aust)
Neil Maclachlan replied:
Thanks Lexa. Roos are truly amazing, I agree.
Magpie Springs
Well done ..... I find the roos round here are hard to capture (quite shy)
Neil Maclachlan replied:
Thanks. These roos probably see quite a lot of people, so they seem relatively calm with human presence.
