From the Scrabster to Stromness ferry, the Old Man of Hoy presents an imposing figure when you're travelling to the Orkneys. To provide some perspective on the height of the Old Man, just visible in this image is a person at the top of the cliff to the right.
I've been taking photos for many years, having bought my first SLR in 1990. Initially, my camera was something I used to record family holidays, but I'm now able to spend more time on photography for its own sake (and mine!). I love finding new places and things to photograph, whether near home or further afield.

Yep, we were lucky. I have a photo, from the return trip, of the boat almost tipping over (OK, slight exaggeration) as people went to one side to take this photo.
